In this video, I designed a modular avocado seed and plant propagation holder in SolidWorks and 3D printed it.
This system is designed to fit different container sizes and allows you to root multiple avocado seeds at the same time in one container. It can also be used for plant cuttings and leaf propagation in water.
This is a modular system, which means you can combine different plates to fit small or large containers depending on your needs.
For this project, I used small modular aquarium containers as water tanks. These containers are transparent, stackable, and perfect for hydroponic propagation and avocado rooting. Transparent walls make it easy to see root growth, and the modular design allows using different container sizes. However, you can use any similar container.
The design includes three different plate types (A, B, and C) with different hole sizes for various seed sizes and plant cuttings. There are also small holes designed for plant leaves or cuttings, which makes this system suitable for plant propagation such as Zamioculcas , pothos, and other plants that can root in water.

This allows you to scale the system depending on your container size.

Final Note
With this modular 3D printed system, you can easily grow avocado seeds and propagate plants at home. You can also root multiple avocado seeds at the same time in one container and monitor root growth through the transparent container.
