In this video, I built a DIY adjustable power supply with Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) using an LM2596 module.
This is a simple, low-cost, and very useful bench power supply for electronics projects.
In this project, I removed the onboard trim potentiometers and added external potentiometers for easier control from the front panel.
I also added a heatsink for better cooling and a protection diode to protect the module from reverse polarity.
The enclosure of this device was designed by me and made using a 3D printer.
I designed the case to fit all components perfectly and make a compact and clean bench power supply.

In this video, you will see:
• LM2596 module modification
• Removing trim potentiometers
• Soldering wires for external potentiometers
• Adding heatsink and diode
• Wiring the input power and switch
• Connecting voltmeter and ammeter
• Installing all components in the case
• Final testing of the power supply
Finally, I tested the power supply with different loads, and it works properly.
The voltage and current can be adjusted smoothly, and the current limiting (CC mode) works correctly.
This power supply is useful for:
• DC motor testing
• LED testing
• Battery charging
• Electronics projects
• DIY lab power supply
